The Federal Government’s new system makes changes in the UAE that includes changing the official working hours and week. The core purpose of this change is to improve work-life balance and enhance the social wellbeing of employees. Like every government office, RTA announced its new working hours. These new working hours will be applicable to all the authorities working under the RTA.
In this guide, we will provide you with complete details regarding the RTA timings as of January 3rd, 2022.
New RTA Service Timings for 2022
Similar to any government office operating in the UAE, RTA Dubai has also shifted its working hours. Other than this official shift, RTA also announced new service timings for Eid Ul Adha and other holidays to provide maximum convenience to the people. The shifting of working hours will impact public transports and road authorities that are under RTA. The RTA announced the following shifts in timings.
RTA Offices
The work week in all the major offices of RTA will be from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday will be weekend holidays. The official working hours are going to be from 07:30 am to 03:00 pm. Friday will be midday and working hours will be from 07:30 am to 12:00 noon.
Technical Testing Centres
All the technical testing centres operating under the RTA will also change their timings. Their working week will be from Sunday to Thursday and Saturday will be a weekend holiday. Moreover, these centres will remain operational on Fridays from 04:00 pm to 09:00 pm.
Customer Happiness Centres
According to new RTA timings, the working hours of customer happiness centres will be from 08:00 am to 07:30 pm. Whereas, the working week will be from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. Sunday will be observed as a weekend holiday. Friday will be midday and remain operational from 08:00 am to 12:00 noon.
Public Transport
Dubai public transport also operates under RTA and will change their timings in 2022. These new timings are set in contrast with the holidays and operating hours. Here we have listed all the time changes in public transports.
Dubai Metro
Dubai Metro Green Lines and Dubai Metro Red will be affected by the shift in timings. The Dubai Metro timings will be 05:00 am to 01:15 am from Monday to Thursday. The timings for Friday and Saturday will be from 05:00 am to 02:15 am and on Sunday it will be from 08:00 am to 01:50 am.
Dubai Bus
The RTA bus timings will be dependent upon the Bus Scheduling System as per the demand of service. However, the bus service will remain operational throughout the week from Monday to Sunday.
Dubai Tram
The Dubai Tram timings will be from 06:00 am to 01:00 am from Monday to Sunday. Whereas, the timing for Sunday will be from 09:00 am to 01: 00 am of the following day.
Public Parking
The public car parking in Dubai will remain operational on old RTA timings. No new change will be observed in the parking timings till further notice. Fridays and public holidays will remain free public parking days. For instance, RTA announced free car parking Dubai during Eid Al Adha break.
Floating Bridge
The bridge will remain closed from 10:00 pm on Saturday to 06:00 am on Monday. The timings are shifted to provide enough time for marine activities and tourist boats. The new closure timings will be implemented from the 2nd of February 2022.
This was all about the RTA timings from 2022. The government offices are liable to shift their timings as per the order, however many private organizations will follow the n old timings.
