Alongside the new rest areas, 22 Dubai bus stations in Dubai, including 16 passenger stations and 6 depots, have been upgraded. The enhanced facilities support 1,387 buses and can accommodate an additional 637 buses, boosting operational efficiency.
In a move to improve passenger comfort, free Wi-Fi is now available on all 259 intercity buses, ensuring a more connected and convenient travel experience across key routes.
15,575 Buses and 1,059 Delivery Motorcycles Inspected in July
RTA conducted over 15,500 inspections targeting chartered, tourist and international bus services to ensure compliance with licensing and safety regulations.
Similarly, 1,059 inspections of delivery motorcycles were completed in high-density areas. The inspection was focused on wearing protective gear, having training certificates and ensuring safe riding practices. Out of 1,059 inspections, only 19 delivery motorcycles were impounded for breaching RTA motorcycle safety rules.
Autonomous Taxi Operations Expanded to Al Reem and Al Maryah Islands
AD Mobility has expanded autonomous taxi services to Al Reem and Al Maryah Islands in partnership with WeRide, Uber and Tawasul Transport. The move supports Abu Dhabi’s target of making 25% of public transport trips autonomous by 2040.
The service, already operational in Yas Island, Saadiyat Island and Zayed International Airport, now covers around 50% of Abu Dhabi’s core areas following the recent expansion.
