ProPilot assist in Altima consists of a front radar sensor and camera installed at the rearview mirror. The radar emits electromagnetic waves that estimate the distance from the vehicle in front. ProPilot Assist connected with the car computer maintains that distance. As it is connected with the computer, it can autonomously control braking, acceleration and steering to maintain that distance. The distance between vehicles can be manually pre-set by the driver. Moreover, Nissan’s ProPilot Assist system will work at a speed of 32 km/h or more.
