Sharjah Road and Transport Authority (SRTA), founded in 2014, monitors the roads and transport sectors in the Emirate. SRTA services supervise and implement different sets of strategies along with providing numerous services to its customers.

Public Transportation

Online Taxi Booking
SRTA online services assist you in booking a taxi of various types including family taxis, ladies’ taxis, taxis for People of Determination and regular taxis. Intercity buses

Parking Request for People of Determination (PoD)

Document Required
To apply for parking in the commercial area, a picture of the requested parking site, a land map and a letter addressed to the authority are required. Whereas, for residential areas, only a copy of the passport is required.
The following documents are required if the applicant is a resident of Sharjah:
- UAE ID Card
- Valid residence visa
- The ID of the PoD applicant
- Police Permit
- A medical report issued by the Health Ministry with three-month validity
- Valid lease contract
Licencing Services

Permit for Drivers
It is important for transport service companies in Sharjah to obtain a licence from the SRTA. The drivers working for a Sharjah-based transport company will be provided with a driving licence that costs AED 250. Road and Transport Guide
The All Roads Department of Sharjah RTA services is in charge of ensuring the proper traffic flow across the Emirate. Moreover, the authority is also responsible to monitor and implement the safety rules and regulations in the region.

This mode of service allows the customers to file a report if their property gets damaged in an accident and can also request a maintenance application.

Legal Services
The legal services allow the operating transportation companies and the customers to apply for permits and refund or No Objection Certificate (NOC) requests.
NOC
In Sharjah, commercial transport companies are required to obtain a NOC from SRTA to operate legally. This NOC testifies that SRTA permits the company to operate in the region as per their standard. If a company is providing chauffeur service to a hotel, then this NOC is necessary.
NOC for connection of services allows customers to apply for the connection of transport services by pipe drilling, interlock removal or asphalt cutting.
The fee for the service depends on the area required for removal. The following documents are required to apply for the services:
- Site general chart
- Map displaying connection services
- NOC from Planning and Service Department
- Official letter from the concerned authority, Electricity and Water Authority, Sharjah Municipality and Emirates Telecommunications Corporation
NOC can also be requested by the customers for the following matters:
- Installation of an interim protective fence on the Asphalt or interlock during the execution of works and a temporary fence
- Use of sidewalk
- Renewal of road closure and use of sidewalks
- The road blockage and traffic diversion execution for construction purposes
Documents that are required for applying for these purposes are:
- Site photograph (coloured)
- Valid land map
- Aerial photograph and coordinates of the site
- Building permit
- A plan approved by the Sharjah municipality
- Plan of the proposed site plan and location
- Copy of UAE ID card of the applicant or site in-charge
- Valid trade licence
Customers can also apply for NOC for the implementation of construction works. This includes sidewalks, stops, entrances and exits as well as side digging barriers.
The following documents are required for applying for these services:
- Site photograph (coloured)
- Valid land map
- Aerial photograph and coordinates of the site
- Copy of UAE ID card of the applicant or site in-charge
- Valid trade licence
- Plan for sides approved by Sharjah Municipality
Refund Requests
Customers can apply for reimbursement of their security deposit through the Insurance Refund Request at SRTA services.
Fine Inquiry
In case of any traffic violation, the drivers are obligated to pay Sharjah traffic fine per their offence. SRTA services enable vehicle owners to check traffic fines by providing their plate number or licence number or vehicle’s owner traffic code.
