That said, the road and transport authority have initiated the Sayer card to save the time of residents travelling in the Emirate. Furthermore, one can access and travel in buses with no cash in hand as they can pay bus fare by tapping the car into the card reader.
WHERE TO BUY THE SAYER CARD?
You can get the Sayer card from the Jubail bus terminal, Sayer card vending machines, or retail points. Moreover, one can buy the Sayer card onboard from the Mowasalat bus drivers. Besides, there are the following types of Sayer cards for different public transport users:

This Sayer subscription card is for travellers who don’t commute via bus. With the blue card, users can get a bus ticket for AED 6, which is a 25 percent discount from the original ticket price of AED 8.
You will have the following discount card options when buying the Sayer card from Mowasalat bus station or drivers:
- AED 50

AED 5 inclusive of five percent VAT will be deducted from your total balance as the charges of new cards. This is a one-time card fee. That said, you will receive the same amount when you recharge the card in the next instance. The validity of the blue card is for five years.
GREY CARD
Those who commute via public buses in Sharjah can avail of the grey card. Monthly charges are AED 225, allowing unlimited trips for 30 days alongside initial card charges of AED 5 inclusive of VAT. Although the validity of the grey card is 5 years, you have to renew your subscription every month.
WHITE CARD
It is an official document allowing free travelling to the people of determination and social assistance beneficiaries. The validity of this white card is one year. Moreover, the card is free of cost.
HOW TO RECHARGE SAYER CARD
Since cards are available at the instance from the drivers and there is no online application for top-up yet, you can’t get a Sayer card recharge online. Hence, you will have to be on board any Sharjah public bus and request the driver to recharge your card with the monthly subscription or inform the amount you want to recharge on your Sayer blue card.
After you pay the charges, the driver will recharge your card and return your Sayer card along with a purchase or payment receipt.
SAYER CARD REGISTRATION
It is essential to register your Sayer card to safeguard your amount and details in case it gets lost or damaged. The registered Sayer card is hot-listed and immediately disables the card when you lose it. Moreover, a registered card can not be re-registered in another person’s name.
This is how one can register their Sayer card:
- Visit the official website of SRTA or register your Sayer card page on the Mowasalat website
- Fill in the details such as name, Sayer card number, and Emirates ID and choose a new password.
The process will take around 7 to 10 days, and your card will be registered to your name.
SAYER CARD BALANCE CHECK
When passengers pay for bus tickets in Sharjah, they receive a receipt showing the bus fare and the amount left on their card. This allows the users to check their card’s balance. However, grey card users don’t need to check their balance as they pay a subscription fee for unlimited bus rides around the city.
