Mitsubishi Pajero-End of an Era
For years, Mitsubishi Pajero stayed in the ranks of highly popular off-roaders across the world. The model series has earned its position as a competent SUV. The perfect equilibrium of rugged exterior and comfortable interior supported Pajero in sustaining its position. Not to mention, it enjoyed a huge global fanbase. Despite all that, there are rumours that Pajero is discontinued by Mitsubihsi.
Let’s see if there is any truth to that rumour – but first let’s take a look at why Pajero is so popular and can a brand really discontinue its popular model.
What Makes Pajero Popular
The Pajero is one of the most popularly used Japanese SUVs in the UAE. Therefore, many people were confused that is Mitsubishi Pajero discontinued or not. The official announcement had been made on discontinuation of Mitsubishi Pajero with the launch of 1000 ‘Final Edition’ vehicles. Here are some of the core features that mark the distinct position of Pajero in the market.
Enduring Exterior
Mitsubishi Pajero is known for its rugged exterior that is constant after 2013. Making minor changes in the exterior increases the Pajero’s recognisability and makes it’s exterior enduring. At the front, headlights and projector lamps are clustered at the corner with fog lights located beneath. Whereas, the built-in wheel case and roof rails were standard in all the models.
Cabin and Comfort
The Mitsubishi Pajero cabin is designed ingeniously offering maximum cargo space. The last row of seats is foldable that provides additional space. A digital screen along with an infotainment system is installed at the centre. Furthermore, the car features an automatic climate control system that works separately for the rear and front zones.
An Ultimate Off-Roader
The off-roading capabilities of Mitsubishi Pajero sets new automotive standards. AWD and 4×4 are the two main drivetrain systems offered. This low-range transmission system is facilitated with differentials and a powerful V6 engine. Moreover, for ensuring cabin comfort, a customised off-road suspension and cruise control system was also included.
2022 Final Edition Pajero
The Mitsubishi Pajero is discontinued after the release of the ‘Final Edition’ model. Debuting in 1983, Pajero has successfully rolled out its four generations in the market. Each generation was a perfect blend of comfort and adventure.
To mark the end of Mitsubishi Pajero, Special Edition model will be launched with some additional features. Floor carpet mats, hood protector and cargo cover are a few to count. The new model is 193-inch long with a total cargo space of 1069-Litre. For increasing safety, anti-lock braking systems, rain-sensing wipers, front/side airbags and bonnet protector will be standard. Whereas for comfort, leather steering, heated and power adjusted seats, aluminium pedals and a sunroof is included.
This 4×4 SUV is powered by a 3.2-Litre turbodiesel engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission system. Hence, the fuel economy of FInal Edition is estimated to be 9.1-Litre/100km.
Since Pajero is discontinued, no new model will be available in the market, after 2022. However, you can still leverage this vehicle by browsing through these used Mitsubishi Pajero for sale in the UAE.
