The Big Banana Car
Imagine a banana almost 7 meters long that too with four-wheel drive! This is the world’s largest banana car built in the United States by Steve Braithwaite in 2009. The banana car was built on a 1993 Ford F-150 pickup chassis using rebar, chicken wire and polyurethane foam. The car was covered in fibreglass and painted into a unique banana shape.
It took two years to present the longest banana car in the world, measuring 22 feet long and 10 feet in height. With a maximum speed of 136 km/h, the banana can carry up to three people seated in a row behind the driver’s seat. The car cost around $25,000 (91,825 AED).
The Longest Limousine in the World
Imagine a 30-meter-long car equipped with a swimming pool, trampoline, helipad and a king-sized bed. Well, it does exist, the “American Dream” limousine.
Based on the chassis of a 1970s Cadillac Eldorado, it has 26 wheels and was designed by American car specialist Jay Ohrberg. The longest limousine is 100 feet long, has no less than 26 wheels, and has two engines.
The designer also created some of the famous cars such as the KITT cars from “The Super Machine” and the DeLorean from “Back to the Future”.
The Hairiest Car
A car covered with hair sounds crazy, but there is a Guinness world record for the hairiest car. Italian hair stylist Maria Lucia Mugno is passionate about cars and hair. So, after being challenged by a hairdresser friend, she decided to beautify her Fiat 500 with 120 kg of natural human hair, making it the hairiest four-wheeler.
The car was designed on 15 March 2014 and cost around 80,000 EUR (285,367 AED). It took around 150 hours to convert the sporty-looking Fiat into the world’s hairiest car.
Longest Journey in a Coffee-Powered Car
In March 2010, a 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco has driven 337 km from London to Manchester (United Kingdom) powered by coffee. The car engine works by heating the coffee beans over a charcoal fire. The process allows coffee beans to release carbon monoxide and hydrogen.
The gas is then cooled and filtered before the hydrogen is burned to start the engine. The ‘Car-puccino’, nicknamed, can reach 100 km/h and cover 1.6 km, consuming 56 espressos.
Fastest Speed for a Car-Driven Blindfolded
From one stunning achievement of driving prowess to another, Mike Newman is a blind car racer and holds seven world records. In 2014 he broke his world records of cars and set the Guinness World Record for the fastest speed for a car driven blindfolded.
Mike drove Nissan GT-R with 1,000 horsepower up to 322.96 km/h at Elvington Airfield in Yorkshire and became the fastest blind car racer around the globe.

First Underwater Car
Among the cars that James Bond used in his adventures in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’. When Agent 007 submerged a Lotus Esprit in the waters of Sardinia in 1977. Despite the fantastic vehicle, the truth is that it was all special effects.
In 2008, thirty years later, the Swiss company Rinspeed developed the “sQuba”, the world’s first submersible car. The ‘sQuba’ has a fully open cab for both safety and weight reduction.
As for the specifications, the amphibious car “sQuba” is an electric car with lithium-ion batteries and three electric motors, two of which are for underwater use and the third for land. This two-seater also has LED lights and a system that allows autonomous driving, without the involvement of the driver or companion. On land, it can reach 120 km/h, while in water, it can sail at 6 km/h and submerge at 3 km/h.
The Biggest Lego Caravan in the World
On September 26, 2018, Ben Craig, an Australian artist from Brisbane, built the largest LEGO brick caravan using 288,630 individual bricks in just five weeks. The interesting car world record was made on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Queensland Caravanning and Camping Show.
This caravan is inspired by the Viscount Royale from 1973 and has all the comforts, such as a double bed, kitchen, fridge, washbasin with running water, chessboard and drawers with cutlery.
Largest Human Car Image
One of the exciting car world records is the largest human car image. In 2019, a total of 2009 people dressed in black, grey and white gathered in Chongqing (China) to form the image of the CS75 PLUS. The record was made to celebrate the 70th anniversary of China and the 20th anniversary of Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. The final image measured 146×57 feet, worthy of entering the record book.
The Biggest Hybrid Car Show in the World
On Sunday, July 9, 2017, the biggest parade of hybrid vehicles in the world took place in Poland. Lexus 450H, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Auris, Toyota Prius, Toyota RAV4, Toyota C-HR, Mitsubishi Outlander, Lexus IS300 and Volvo X90 were the models that participated in this meeting. The event was organised by Panek Carsharing and managed to bring together a total of 339 hybrid cars.
