All about Opening a FEWA (EWE) Account
FEWA (federal electricity and water authority), now known as Etihad water and electricity (EWE), is an official electricity and water supply company in the Northern Emirate UAE.
This entity handles the activation and supply of electricity and water to the Northern Emirates like Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain. One of the first things you should do when moving to a new property in the Northern Emirate is to activate water and power services through the FEWA account.

HOW TO CREATE A NEW FEWA (EWE) ACCOUNT IN THE NORTEHRN EMIRATE (MOVE-IN)
You can follow the procedure of FEWA account opening through their official website. In addition, you can also you can also apply for FEWA account activation for electricity and water by visiting their Customer Happiness Centers mentioned in the end.
If you are a new customer, there are two options for logging in
- Log in with UAE Pass
- Register yourself as a new user
To create/register a new FEWA (EWE) account, simply follow these steps:
- Click on the ‘Customer login’ option
- Go to the ‘Register’ option below
- Create an account by submitting the required information
- Click ‘Register’
- You will receive a 5-digit code through SMS
- A verification email will be sent to your registered email
After receiving a confirmation email, you can browse through the link given in the email and log in to your account.
- On the left side select the ‘E-service’ option
- Enter the 5-digit activation code
- Select ‘Activate’ after entering the code
- Your FEWA online service account is activated

FOR CITIZENS (RESIDENTIAL)
- Copy of valid UAE ID card
- Copy of the family book (Khulasat Al Qaid)
- Title Deed (if any)
- Valid site plan
- Building Permit (upon submission of application)
- Completion certificate before connection of service
- Stamped Load Card by the electrical contractor (approved by EtihadWe)
- Etihad WE approved Land clearance certificate
- Etihad WE technical drawings (for electricity and water)
- Accreditation license copy of engineering consultant and electrical contractor.
FOR TENANT
- Emirates ID/Passport
- Tenancy contract approved from Municipality
FOR EXPATRIATES
- Copy of valid UAE ID card/Passport for non-residents in UAE only
- Title Deed (if any)
- Valid site plan
- Building Permit (upon submission of application)
- Completion certificate before connection of service
- NOC issued by the Civil Defense Department (submit before connection of service)
- Stamped Load Card by the electrical contractor (approved by EtihadWe)
- Land clearance certificates that were previously approved by EtihadWE
- EtihadWE approved technical drawings (for electricity and water)
- Accreditation license copy of engineering consultant and electrical contractor.
APPLY FOR FEWA (EWE) SERVICE ACTIVATION
After account activation, the next step is to apply for service activation for your new premise. You can apply by simply following the steps below:
- Go to Etihad water and electricity’s official website
- Go to ‘eServices’
- Enter your email address and password in a ‘Customer Login’ tab
- Enter secret question
- Click ‘Proceed’
- Under the eServices tab, click on ‘Apply for New Account
- Enter your details for service activation and click ‘Proceed’
- The next step is to fill out the ‘Service Activation Form’
- After completing the activation form, save the reference number given at the end.
You will receive a confirmation email or SMS for the service activation request.
You can track the status of activation by your Reference Number.
- Go to the same tab where you apply for a new account.
- Go to the ‘Services’ tab, click on ‘Follow up’
- Click on ‘Service Activation’ (Move-In)
- Enter your ‘Reference Number’
