Rafid App for Traffic Incidents in Sharjah
Prompt reporting of road accidents can help avoid traffic congestion and provide immediate medical attention to the injured. The earlier an accident is reported, the better the chances are of accurate investigations. For this purpose, Sharjah Government launched the Rafid app in collaboration with the Sharjah Police.
Rafid app offers ease in reporting minor road accidents. It saves up time and unnecessary use of police resources. The Rafid app was introduced in line with the vision of the Ruler of Sharjah to transform the Emirate into a technologically innovative city.
Let’s go through the process of reporting traffic incidents via the Rafid app.
What is Rafid App?
The Rafid app for traffic incidents in Sharjah is an incident reporting app designed specifically for use in the Emirate. It is similar to the Dubai Police app through which road accidents can be reported instantly. With the Rafid app, motorists now do not have to wait for the arrival of police patrol to investigate a minor accident. The Rafid app encourages drivers to locate a safe place to pull over on the roadside before responding to minor traffic incidents.
If you get involved in a road accident in Sharjah, all you need to do is report the accident on the app and leave the rest to the traffic experts. The fee for getting a minor accident inspected by a police officer in Sharjah is AED 440. Whereas with the Rafid app, this fee is reduced to AED 385.
How Does the Rafid App Work?
To report a road accident via the Rafid app, download the application (Android | iOS) first. On the home page, select the option for ‘Accident Reporting’. Then the user must confirm the location of the accident by navigating it on the map. A step-by-step manual is also available in Arabic, English, and Urdu on the app.
The application then prompts users to provide the required accident data, including:
- Driver’s Sharjah driving licence and contact details for all vehicles involved
- Vehicle registration numbers
- Images of each vehicle’s damage
- Images of the front and back plate number
Users can ask a nearby Rafid officer for help through the ‘Request Officer’ option, in case of an emergency.
A final accident report is issued to drivers via email or SMS after the users pay the fees via any of the available payment options. A customer can also use e-services by the Saeed accident report system to raise any objection to the accident report.
