BMW X1 FIRST GENERATION (2009-2012)
The first-ever BMW X1 was introduced in 2008 for the 2009 model year. The smallest of BMW’s SAV lineup was inspired by the E90 model.

BMW X1 FIRST GENERATION FACELIFT (2012-15)

- A 3.0-litre turbo engine generated 245 hp and was available with the BMW xDrive. It could be paired with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
BMW X1 SECOND GENERATION(2016-19)
The second generation in the BMW X1 history was rolled out in 2016 with significant changes.
The car was now equipped with a transversally mounted engine which altered the hood’s shape. The air intake became lower and trapezoidal. Besides, the headlights and front car grille were redesigned with a wider greenhouse. A shark fin antenna was added to the roof’s rear part. The tailgate was adorned with a broad spoiler.
The interior was enhanced and became more spacious with generous legroom. Bolster seats equipped the front with a tall centre console. The dashboard in front of the driver featured two wide dials in the instrument cluster along with fuel level and temperature gauges. A small LCD was installed to show onboard computer information. BMW also added an infotainment system screen controlled by buttons and rotary dials and it was placed on the centre console.
BMW installed new powertrains for the second generation. During this period in the history of BMW XI, the models were offered with either an all-wheel drive system or a front-wheel drive. The engine options included:
- A 2.0-litre engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It produced 192 hp.
- A 2.5-litre engine mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It generated 231 hp.
BMW X1 SECOND GENERATION FACELIFT (2019-22)
As the BMW X1 history entered a successful journey, the brand decided to further modify the model. The facelifted version was offered with an altered exterior that added to the car’s look.

BMW X1 THIRD GENERATION (2022-PRESENT)
