Al-Futtaim, the authorised dealer for Lexus in the UAE, announced the launch of Lexus Connect Service on 16th February 2022. Lexus launched connected services in collaboration with Etisalat in the Emirates. The Lexus Connect in the UAE is only available in the latest models, for instance, the Lexus NX 2022 features this new connected-car solution.

WHAT IS LEXUS CONNECT IN THE UAE?
Lexus has effectively utilized advanced technologies to offer an ultimate connected-car solution to motorists in the form of Lexus Connect in the UAE. This feature connects motorists with their car via their smartphone by simply installing and activating Lexus Connect app (iOs | Android).
The vehicle owners can access various features remotely through the Lexus Connect app at home or on the go. Also, the app notifies them of anything unexpected in their car. This service is specifically designed and integrated for the convenience and peace of mind of the motorists.

REMOTE CHECK & CONTROL

VIEW TRIP HISTORY OF YOUR LEXUS VEHICLE
The Lexus Connect Service helps you keep a track of your previous trips on the app. Lexus Connect app records the previous routes and shows it when required. In this way, vehicle owners can check the mileage their car has covered, average speed, the locations it has been to, driving time as well as fuel consumption ratio.
MONITOR VEHICLE STATUS WHEN SOMEONE ELSE IS DRIVING

ANTI-THEFT ALARM

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY CALL
The Lexus Connect in the UAE also offers an automatic emergency call function. When the airbag is activated in the vehicle, the app notifies the Emergency Center automatically. The operator at the closest Emergency Center will receive the car’s location and an emergency vehicle for help will be sent.
It is worthwhile to note that the automatic emergency call function is available in the UAE only and for this service, Lexus Connect app needs no registration.
MANUAL EMERGENCY CALL
The Lexus Connect Service in the UAE allows drivers to manually make an emergency call to the Emergency Center. They can do it by simply pressing the SOS button in their vehicle. The operator will then receive the car’s location and an emergency vehicle will be arranged.
This function is only activated in the UAE for now.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR CONNECTED SERVICE FOR THE FIRST TIME
The process to register for Lexus Connect in the UAE is as under:
- Download the Lexus Connect app and tap ‘Register’
- Enter the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and the last four digits of your cell number, registered with the dealer at the time of purchase
- Enter the verification code sent via SMS
- Vehicle will appear on the app, click continue
- Terms and Conditions will appear, check the boxes if you agree and tap continue
- Create your account with all the information and tap next
- A verification code will be sent to the provided email address
- Enter the verification code on the app
- Decide for a PIN and enter it in the app for remote access
- Registration completed
IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE
- All the Lexus Connect Services in the UAE detailed above can be activated on vehicles that have DCM.
- The notification feature, which is a common function, is available for the user irrespective of the Connected Service contract status.
- The vehicles have access to the emergency call function even without any app installed for the Connected Service.
- Those buying a new Lexus can enjoy free Lexus Connect Service in the UAE for three years. After the three year period ends, vehicle owners are required to pay a certain fee to continue using the Connected Service. The subscription for the service is for one year only and every year the owner needs to extend it.
- Those buying a used Lexus in the UAE are required to pay a fee to use the Connected Service. With the second-hand vehicle as well, the owner needs to extend the subscription on a yearly basis, as the service period is valid for 1 year only.
