As many as three thousand on-site contractors from 50 companies were recruited to build Formula One’s newest track and it took just twelve months to complete the project. The circuit’s construction work was completed in compliance with stringent Saudi Arabian labor regulations, with ATLAS safety training being mandatory to attend for all the workers.

- It has 27 corners in total (16 on the left and 11 on the right) and three portions marked as Drag Reduction System (DRS) Zones to ensure that the drivers have enough chances to overtake during the race. Before Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the record for the highest number of corners on a track belonged to Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore (23) followed by the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.
- It is the Gulf region’s first street circuit with LED floodlights. Around the track, there are 627 lighting poles with fifteen hundred lux illumination levels. The races held under the lights at night make up for a spectacular atmosphere.

On December 5, 2021, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit hosted Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 – inaugural Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and 21st round of the 2021 Formula One World Championship. On 27 March 2022, it hosted Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2022 – second edition of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and the second round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship. According to the official figures released by Formula 1, Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021, which also saw performances of world-famous singers like A$AP Rocky, Jason Derulo, David Guetta, and Tiësto, drew a crowd strength of about 143,000 spectators.
Jeddah Corniche Circuit is earmarked to host the Saudi Arabian Formula One races for at least until 2025, after which the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be shifted to Qiddiya – an entertainment megaproject currently in the works.
