Once locked, a green light will appear with a buzzer sound. If there is no light or a red light, you must remove the bicycle from the dock and try again.
What If a Bike Has a Problem
If you encounter an issue with the bike, Return the bicycle to the nearest station. Press the red button labelled with a ‘wrench’ icon. It will activate a red light, signalling the bike is out of order.
The bike will be unavailable for use until the technician repairs it. If the bike has a severe malfunction or you can’t move it, contact customer service, available from 8 AM to 11 PM. If customer service isn’t available, keep the bike and provide detailed information about the issue via the app.

Careem ensures that riders must follow the RTA bicycle rules in Dubai while riding. These rules include wearing helmets and protective gear. Moreover, the riders must ensure the following cycling rules in the UAE:
- Riders must not ride the bike in areas where the speed limit is 60 km/h or more.
- Cyclists must avoid riding in the jogging areas.
- Bike riders must use the designated parking spaces
- Cyclists must report immediately to Careem in case of an accident
- They must not carry other passengers with them
- Riders must avoid using mobile phones or dual headsets
