DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR A VEHICLE TRANSFER CERTIFICATE FROM RTA DUBAI
If you are an individual applying for a certificate to transfer vehicle from Dubai to another Emirate, you will need to provide the following documents.
- Vehicle Clearance Certificate (VCC) or reference number of electronic Transfer Certificate or electronic Export certificate or electronic Change of Possession certificate or electronic Possession Certificate.
- Original Emirates ID for updated information.
- If the vehicle is non-licenced or has an expired licence, then a vehicle transfer technical inspection is required.
- Vehicle number plates to handover.
- A police report in case one or both plates of the vehicle are lost or stolen.
- If the vehicle to transfer from Dubai is non-compliant that come without year of manufacturing, then a Gulf Conformity Certificate is required.
- If the vehicle to transfer from Dubai is mortgaged then an electronic redemption of the mortgage by the mortgagee is to be submitted.
- In case of no traffic file, a copy of the passport (or original Emirates ID)
If a company needs a vehicle transfer certificate from RTA Dubai, they need to submit all the documents listed above as well as the following documents:
One official letter in Arabic from the company along with a copy of the trade license as well as Endorsement of Signature and Authorisation letter
HOW TO APPLY FOR RTA VEHICLE TRANSFER CERTIFICATE
You can apply for a vehicle transfer certificate online via the RTA offical website or by visiting the Customer Happiness Centre or Vehicle Registration and Inspection Centre.
THROUGH RTA WEBSITE
You can only apply for an RTA vehicle transfer certificate via the website if your vehicle is registered:
- Log into the website using your username and password.
- Select the option of Licensing Services.
- Select the ‘My Vehicles (more)’ option.
- Enter the required fields.
- Pay the due fees using your credit card.
- Submit your vehicle plates at the Customer Centre or Vehicle Registration Centre.
- Receive your certificate from RTA online via Email.
THROUGH CUSTOMER HAPPINESS CENTRE OR VEHICLE REGISTRATION AND INSPECTION CENTRE
- Submit all the required documents at the centre you choose for the service application.
- Pay the service fees.
- Hand over your vehicle plates and receive your RTA vehicle transfer certificate electronically via SMS or Email.
