MBUX Hyperscreen Features and Functions
Mercedes-Benz consistently makes efforts to offer a better driving experience. Being consistent in its efforts, the auto manufacturer introduced the most unique and advanced feature MBUX hyperscreen. This is one of the biggest screens ever installed in any Mercedes-Benz model. It debuted as an option in the all-electric Mercedes-EQS luxury sedan, which is one of the most hyped cars of 2022, and is referred to as the “jewel of interior design.”
Today, we will discuss the MBUX hyperscreen, its features and functionalities, and why you should opt for cars with MBUX hyperscreen.
WHAT IS MBUX HYPERSCREEN?
MBUX hyperscreen is designed by effectively utilising and incorporating artificial intelligence (AI). The operating system and display adapt to the user’s behaviour and make personalized suggestions based on that. The hyperscreen appears lightweight, almost floating in the centre of the car. Three separate screens beneath one gently curved Gorilla glass surface looks like a single entity.
The futuristic design combined with intuitive technology displays key functionalities like G-forces, recuperation and others. The G-Force element is called the EQ pack or flying saucer and the key information on it is easy to understand. Moreover, the hyperscreen’s clear minimalist design and strong anchor points make it intuitive and easy to use.
Now let’s take a look what’s inside:
The hyperscreen has changed the way motorists interact with a vehicle. This innovative feature is not only intuitive and intelligent from the inside but is also spectacular from the outside. The hyperscreen connects the passengers and drivers both with the outside and inside world.
The MBUX hyperscreen system’s interface is a customer-centric user interface that gives direct intelligent access to the user to all the functions they need in any situation. The idea was to create a user interface that reduces distraction and complexity for motorists. Hence, hyperscreen is next level of fully intuitive user experience, which is more accessible and more innovative due to a whole new in-car user experience combined with zero layer function.
Before we learn about the zero layer function, let’s take a look at the technical features of MBUX hyperscreen.
MBUX HYPERSCREEN TECHNICAL FEATURES
The hyperscreen boasts a combination of innovative technology and extraordinary computing capability. There are eight CPU cores, 46.4 gigabytes per second RAM memory bandwidth, and 24GB RAM functioning at the backend of the hyperscreen. Also, there are 12 actuators installed under the touchscreen surface for providing haptic feedback.
The central (17.7”) and passenger (12.3”) display is backed by OLED technology, and the three separate screens come with reflection-resistant aluminium silicate and two coatings of scratch glass. Each screen is on a 56” surface.
Natural Language Understanding (NLU) is installed in the MBUX hyperscreen system that helps users to control the MBUX by their voice. The system also supports 27 languages.
FUNCTIONALITIES OF THE HYPERSCREEN AND ZERO LAYER PRINCIPLE
The MBUX hyperscreen offers amazing functionalities that include apps, vehicle functions, navigation, climate control, entertainment and many more.
ZERO LAYER PRINCIPLE
The Zero Layer brings all the apps and functions into a fluid (proactive user interface). You can activate the functions you need from one screen. The all-important navigation map is always visible in the centre combined with situation-specific features. Beneath it there are controls for the phones, entertainment or the features that suit the specific situation.
The zero layer principle makes human-machine interaction seamless, intelligently.
The zero layer is based on emotional intelligence and is capable of identifying a motorist’s behaviour. Furthermore, the MBUX hyperscreen suggests other functions or adds them at the top of the display. In some cases, the system will place the unused functions in the background for easy access. The zero layer of hyperscreen MBUX also uses AI to process data sets such as position, temperature and time. Its intelligence support also assists you with route planning and charging your vehicle to help you get the most out of your electric mobility experience.
Moreover, the AI suggests actions according to the previous interaction with the system and frequently travelled routes of motorists. For instance, if you leave for work from home at sharp 8:00 am, the system will show the route. Secondly, if the motorist calls someone on their way to work every day, the motorist will get suggestions to call them on a tile at the top of the display.
The MBUX hyperscreen not only offers functions and features for drivers, but the front-seat passenger can also enjoy access to hyperscreen. This screen is labelled as Co-Driver Display, which is a separate screen installed in the same hardware. The content on the Co-Driver Display does not distract drivers and does not interfere with the functions on their screen. Besides, the front-seat passengers can view all the vehicle’s relevant information. The intelligent camera-based locking concept in the MBUX hyperscreen system on the passenger side does not distract the driver. This feature prevents them from viewing passengers’ screens. Passengers, on the other hand, can enjoy their journey by watching videos using Bluetooth headphones.
The MBUX hyperscreen infotainment system and multimedia system come with market-specific features for passengers. Also, the front-seat passenger has access to share content with the passengers in the back seat. Passengers can also watch TV, but this feature is available in some countries.
Talking about the design of the EQ display for drivers, it’s similar to the one installed in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with augmented reality.
Since the levels of connectivity have revolutionised and there are several innovative ways to interact. Mercedes-Benz has, therefore, introduced the MBUX hyperscreen system. This feature in the Mercedes-Benz EQS is fully customer-centric. The system ensures that all the important functions are at the fingertips of the motorists in any given situation. Having MBUX hyperscreen in the EQS sedan offers comfort, ease and easy accessibility.
Given the impressive functions, if you are interested in owning one of the cars with MBUX hyperscreen, then you may opt to buy a used Mercedes-Benz EQS in the UAE. The MBUX hypercreen, as of August 2022, is only available in this model. The EQS sedan is a luxury, top-of-the-line all-electric car that comes with various other advanced features. The Mercedes-Benz EQE also features the MBUX hyperscreen.
