Step 1: Open the car trunk and look under the truck door. Remove the hard fabric board that makes up the underline from the trunk door. It covers the tailgate structure. Use a screwdriver to take out the retaining clips and set them aside.
Step 2: Place the rear spoiler base to expose the mounting holes and adhesive strips. The sticker has a protective coating that will stay in place. The two plastic alignment guides that come with the rear spoiler need to be taped into place with the centring hole inside each fastener opening. Step 4: Pull the rear spoiler away from the trunk door so that the alignment guides are left secured to the trunk. These tabs are where holes must be drilled to secure the spoiler to the trunk door.
Step 5: Use a punch to advance the alignment guides and mark the trunk’s door surface. Be sure to leave a mark on the door before removing the alignment guides or you will have a problem aligning the holes.
Step 6: Remove the trunk door alignment guides and drill a hole that averages 1/4 inch. Check with the instructions or measure the screws and mounting holes to ensure the hole is not too big or too small.
Step 7: Now drill two punch marks through the trunk door. Lift the trunk door and look underneath through the open spaces in the under deck to reach the holes through the door.
Step 8: Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws to the rear spoiler through the trunk’s door space. This is not an easy task, as the space is open and too far away to use one hand to hold the screw to the end of the slot when starting the screw. Tighten screws on the spoiler securely.
Step 9: Close the trunk door. Pull away on the ends of the protective cover to the adhesive strips and press the spoiler down along the entire length of the rail. Open the trunk again and make sure the screws are firmly in place and everything is finished.
Step 10: Replace the deck cover inside the fabric board using the original latches.
Step 11: If the spoiler has a light, take the cable and enter it by the edge or frame of the trunk lid, remove the rear stop cables and join them, remember, black with black and red with red, and insulate them well.
Step 12: Press the brake to test if the spoiler light comes on and enjoy the new look and brake light service provided by the spoiler to your vehicle.
