BATTERY AND CHARGING
The GMC Hummer is equipped with the advanced Ultium battery system, which supports up to 300 kW of power and 800V DC fast charging. This allows for rapid recharging capabilities, significantly reducing downtime.
For at-home charging, the vehicle offers both Level 1 and Level 2 AC options. Such an arrangement presents flexible solutions for different setups for EV charging at home. On a full charge, the Hummer boasts an EPA-estimated electric range of up to 480 kilometres, ensuring extended travel distances without frequent recharging.
The actual charging times may vary depending some factors listed as follows:
- Battery condition
- Output of charger
- Vehicle settings
- Outside temperature
Similarly, the range may vary depending on temperature, battery age, terrain, and usage and maintenance of the vehicle.
Other features of the GMC Hummer EV are:
FULL UNDERBODY ARMOUR
The HUMMER EV is protected in harsh off-roading conditions by using durable steel plates and shields around the differential and battery pack, as well as by full underbody armour, skid plates, and rock sliders.
This protects the Hummer in extreme off-roading areas.
DYNAMIC SUSPENSION
The available Adaptive Air Suspension adjusts the GMC HUMMER EV’s ride height for different conditions automatically. It lowers the height for easy entry and exit and better aerodynamics. Similarly, the suspension automatically increases the height for improved ground conditions.
Continuous Damping Adaptive Ride Control adjusts damping levels by responding to on-road inputs for enhanced ride dynamics. When the vehicle is off-road, it unlocks additional refinements based on shock travels.
EXTRACT MODE
The extract mode helps you cross a tough spot, a large stone, or any obstacle blocking the Hummer or anything that can collide with the engine.
In this mode, the Adaptive Air Ride Suspensions are activated to raise the vehicle 6 inches. This helps you surmount obstacles without causing damage to the engine. This also helps in crossing water banks.
4-WHEEL STEERING
The GMC Hummer Electric truck has a 4-wheel steering system. This helps the hummer turn as tightly as a common car. This also helps to drive diagonally.
The 4-wheel steering system helps change lanes on a highway, climb on rocky surfaces and pull into parking spots.
The shorter wheelbase further tightens the turning radius.
CRABWALK
Crabwalk is one of the most unique features of the GMC Hummer EV. Using the 4-wheel steering system, you will be able to move the Hummer diagonally. Torque vectoring and rear-wheel steering also help in this mode.
The crabwalk mode can help you get in and out of tight spaces. It is a feature no other vehicle of this size can match.
MULTIPRO Tailgate
The MULTIPRO Tailgate in the 2024 Hummer EV offers many distinct functions to enhance usability and flexibility. It includes a primary gate, a load stop for securing longer items and a full-width step for easier access. There’s also an inner gate with a work surface and multiple configurations to assist with loading and unloading. This tailgate is designed to improve cargo management and provide versatile solutions for various tasks.
POWER eTRUNK
The POWER eTRUNK in the off-roader is a front trunk or ‘frunk’ that provides additional storage space. It offers a capacity of 320 litres and is designed to be easily accessible with the touch of a button. This feature allows flexibility in storage space, making it convenient for carrying various items securely.
One-pedal Driving
The One-pedal driving feature allows the driver to accelerate and decelerate using only the accelerator pedal. When the pedal is released, regenerative braking slows the vehicle, recapturing energy to recharge the battery.
This feature enhances driving convenience and reduces wear on the brake system. As a result, the one-pedal driving mechanism increases energy efficiency by maximising regenerative braking.
ULTRAVISION
The GMC Hummer EV is equipped with Ultravision, a one-of-a-kind system, with up to 18 cameras including standard HD Surround Vision.
The camera setup includes underbody forward and rear-facing cameras to give you a real-time view of the terrain. This can help you choose the best line on the trail. There are replacement lens protectors and a washer function to help you see more clearly.
Multiple cameras give you a digital overhead image of the area around your GMC Hummer EV. Soundvision gives you the ease to navigate tight spaces at low speeds and manoeuvre off-road.
