Nissan, as a brand needs no introduction. It is one of the most popular automobile brands in the UAE, offering everything from affordable sedans to SUVs. Nissan has established itself as one of the biggest automobile brands by offering a range of reliable vehicles at reasonable prices – and Nissan Altima is the ultimate example of such a vehicle.
Overview
Nissan Altima is a mid-sized sedan known for its durability and value for money. According to UAE’s used car annual market report 2020, Nissan Altima is one of the top ten cost-effective car models. Launched in the 90s, Altima has evolved a lot over the years – and yet managed to stay true to its origin as an affordable sedan that delivers decent performance. Let’s take a stroll down the history lane to learn more about Altima’s origins and evolution.
History
The Altima series was originally named ‘Stanza Altima’ to create its impression in the market. However, after a few years, the first name was dropped by the company.
Originally, the Altima series was sandwiched between Nissan’s two sedan series: Sentra and Maxima. This became its unique selling point as it was marketed as slightly more luxurious than Sentra but a bit smaller than Maxima. This unique feature worked and Nissan Altima has captured a larger share of the midsize sedan market. See the following details about different generations of Nissan Altima.
