Car History: Audi A7

FIRST GENERATION OF AUDI A7 (2010-2014)
The 1st generation of Audi A7 history wasn’t a complete hatchback nor a sedan. It was a 5-door coupe with its luxurious interior inspired from the Audi A6 and the sport performance features from the Audi A5. Moreover, the swept-back roofline and Audi’s iconic large front-grille made the design more interesting and coupe-like. Initially, Audi A7 boasted a powerful 3.0-litre V6 Quattro engine with 310 hp and 441 N-m torque. The 1st generation had another trim of a 2.8-litre V6 engine providing 204 hp and torque of 281 N-m. Not only that, the powerful 3.0-litre engine could speed from rest to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.
Audi A7 was equipped with decent safety features alongside climate control, start and stop system to reduce fuel consumption and Audi’s own infotainment system. Besides, buyers could choose the optional features in A7 such as head-up display and ventilated seats.
SECOND GENERATION OF AUDI A7 (2014-2017)
With a design refresh in the exterior, the 2nd generation in the history of Audi A7 was launched in 2014. The single-frame front grill, optional matrix LED headlights and dynamic turn signal lights at the front featured in this generation. Moreover, there was a change in rear light design.
The 2nd generation featured a dominating line around the driver and passenger seats in the interior. Audi featured its own MMI infotainment system and optional head-up display for improved car ergonomics. Besides, Audi A7 featured an extensive boot space of 535-litre with rear seats not folded.
The 2015 Audi A7 model received a facelift. Moreover, this generation carried the same engine specifications as the first generation.
THIRD GENERATION OF AUDI A7
The third generation of Audi A7 was unveiled with new design changes. This generation is the latest one with a long engine hood and longer wheelbase. The longer wheelbase comes with its own benefits of decent cabin and boot space. Besides, the contours emphasise the wheels enhance the sporty and sleek appearance. Moreover, the 2017 onwards models in the Audi A7 history have more headspace than the previous models.
The engine specifications also changed in 2017 as the sedan came with two main trims 2.0-litre 45 TFSI and 3.0-litre V6 engines. Moreover, there were further variants with power ranging from 245 hp to 340 hp.
