All About AD Express
Abu Dhabi, the capital city of UAE is one of the busiest Emirates with a robust infrastructure and a highly efficient transport system. Aside from an increasing number of residents, the Emirate welcomes a lot of visitors on a daily basis. To ease the travelling to and from Abu Dhabi, ITC has launched a direct bus service ‘AD Express’ from various cities to Abu Dhabi. The service is introduced to help people from different cities visit Abu Dhabi through a direct route in a shorter period.

Express Bus Abu Dhabi
ITC Abu Dhabi is continuously working on increasing and providing a diversified public transportation facility. The Abu Dhabi Express is also a part of this development series. The Express is launched with an aim to provide direct, non-stop, comfortable and secure transportation from surrounding cities to the capital city.
Here are the complete details regarding the Abu Dhabi express bus.
Operations
The buses will be controlled by private organisations namely Emirates Taxi and Al Ghazal Transport Company. Around 64 buses will be dedicated to this service offering 680 trips from and to the capital city.
The operations of buses are segmented into two phases. The first phase is functional from the 14th of March-2022. In this phase, the AD Express will cover cities including Mohammed bin Zayed City and Musaffah Industrial Area. Whereas, in the second phase the service will cover Al Falah City, Al Shahama District, Khalifa City and Baniyas including some other areas as per the demand.
The government also aims to extend this service to different areas of Al Ain City including Al Faqa, Sweihan, Al Hayer, Al Waqn, Al Qu, Nahil, and Abu Samra.
Routes
Currently, the AD Express is operational on four major routes connecting surrounding areas to Abu Dhabi.
- E-01: It runs from Industrial City Abu Dhabi (ICAD) to the main bus station of Abu Dhabi city via Musaffah region
- E-02: It runs directly from Musaffah city (Emirates Driving Company) to Abu Dhabi city (Main bus stations)
- E-03: It operates from Al Shaabiah bus station (Mussafah City) to the main bus station (Abu Dhabi)
- E-04: The bus on this route covers Safeer Mall (Khalifa City) to the main bus station (Abu Dhabi).
Timings
The Express operates in both directions to and from Abu Dhabi city. For the convenience of travellers, the frequency of Express is maximum of 25 minutes. Whereas, it is 10 minutes during peak hours. Express bus Abu Dhabi timings are different for weekdays and weekends.
- Weekdays: From 05:00 am to 10:00 pm
- Weekend/Public holidays: From 05:00 am to 01:00 am
Fares
Currently, AD Express is not accepting Hafilat cards. Therefore, travellers have to pay AED 12 in cash for one side trip.
