The Abu Dhabi toll system, developed as part of the emirate’s transport strategy and managed by the Integrated Transport Centre as a digital road pricing system, improves traffic flow and reduces congestion across Abu Dhabi. The system automatically charges vehicles when they pass through designated toll gates, without requiring manual payment.
Commonly known as the Darb toll system, it is implemented under the Integrated Transport Centre as part of the emirate’s wider smart mobility framework.
It works in a similar way to Dubai’s Salik system, although both systems are independently managed and serve their respective emirates.
The Darb toll system is currently active at four bridge entry points in Abu Dhabi:
- Al Maqtaa Bridge
- Musaffah Bridge
- Sheikh Zayed Bridge
- Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bridge
Two new toll gates will be introduced from May 2026:
- Al Qurm (Wahat Al Karama Street)
- Ghantoot (Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Street)
All drivers in the capital city are required to register for the Abu Dhabi toll system before using toll gates.
