REGISTRATION FOR RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY (MOVE-IN)
When you buy a residential apartment in Sharjah, you can easily apply for electricity and water connection services as a landlord or owner. Moreover, a tenant can apply for a SEWA connection with the landlord’s approval. Here are the documents required for registering a new SEWA connection:
- Tenancy contract signed by the landlord and tenant.
- Copy of the Emirates ID of the tenant.
- Previous clearance certificate of the premises.

PROCEDURE FOR THE TENANT
When you rent an apartment in Sharjah or any other type of residential property, you have to follow the procedure as a tenant to apply for a connection.
- Submit the application at the concerned service centre
- Emiratis or nationals need to sign a special undertaking
- Pay a fixed security deposit according to the leased unit type

- Trade licence or commercial registration copy
- Economic Department’s signed inspection report
- Approval of the Tenancy Contract signed by the Landlord and Tenant

REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR GOVERNMENT ENTITY
Government entities must submit the following documents to the SEWA office for the activation of the required connection:
- No objection certificate (NOC) from the federal or local government.
- Original Tenancy Contract (for the leased unit)
- Ownership or title deed

- Submit the application to the SEWA customer happiness centre
- The customer happiness centre will direct the transaction to the Government Departments & Ministries Section.
