The Hyperloop project in Dubai has made headlines since it was announced. Virgin Hyperloop One inked a partnership with DP World in 2016 and established the project’s ground within a year. Virgin and DP World had previously introduced DP World Cargo Speed for faster transportation of cargo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pod design of the Hyperloop, a capsule-based transportation project, was revealed back in 2018, followed by the news of a successful prototype testing in November 2020. With such rapid advancement, we can expect this efficient alternative transport system to become operational soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hyperloop is a high-speed ground transportation system that can be used for both passengers and cargo. The system basically consists of floating pods in a sealed tube. The pod remains suspended by the levitation system. This leads to no contact between the tube track and moving pod, hence eliminates the resistance due to friction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contactless propulsion allows the Hyperloop to reach an unprecedented speed of up to 1200 km\/h. As the system is fully electric, it can reduce the carbon footprint<\/a> with the help of green energy in the long term.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Various companies have invested in the Hyperloop projects across the world in the race to develop an efficient and sustainable transport system. In fact, it was Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, who first came up with the concept of Hyperloop in 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Hyperloop Highlights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In November 2020, Virgin Hyperloop was able to successfully transport a team of two members in a trial run in Nevada, USA. The pod was set to 48 m\/s for the purpose of testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-seater prototype pod, referred to as XP-2, was designed to test the Hyperloop environment for the safety of passengers. Whereas, the commercial pod is designed to accommodate up to 28 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
