It is not the first time that the UAE government has taken the initiative to support autonomous vehicles in the UAE. About WeRide<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

WeRide is a Chinese company headquartered in Guangzhou. The company is focused on researching and improving autonomous driving experience across the globe. Currently, they are operating in 26 different cities including Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside researching autonomous vehicles, WeRide also provides services like urban logistics, ride-hailing and on-demand transportation. Whereas, the products of WeRide include robosweepers, robobuses and robovans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Will WeRide Do<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After the issuance of the first licence for self-driving vehicles in the UAE, the company will test different types of autonomous vehicles. The testing will be done on the UAE streets which reflect the future of mobility in the Emirates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also unveils the plan for the National Network of Electric Vehicle Chargers. According to this, new EV charging stations will be constructed across the country. Moreover, initiatives to regulate the market and grow other associated sectors will be taken.
