Speaking of that, the Joint Committee for Traffic Safety in Abu Dhabi has announced a new comprehensive plan for the road safety of delivery motorcyclists. The decision regulates and enhances the safety level for all road users, especially delivery motorcyclists on busy roads and highways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the delivery motorcyclists in Abu Dhabi, the Joint Committee has introduced new rules to enhance the road safety of such drivers. Under the new rule for driving in the fast lane<\/a>, the delivery motorcyclists must use the right lanes on the road if their motorcycle speed exceeds 100km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decision will ensure the restriction of dangerous driving by delivery motorcyclists. Moreover, the new framework will add to the efficiency of the Abu Dhabi public transport<\/a> system. It will also limit other violations, including disregarding traffic rules, lane swerving, negligence in using turn signals or driving on the wrong side of the road. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the new set of rules, the Integrated Transport Centre<\/a> (ITC) has introduced training and internship programs. These programs for delivery motorcyclists would be conducted by supervisors of different delivery companies in the Emirate. After the completion of the training program, a written test will be conducted to qualify the drivers to start their job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, ITC will test and provide certificates of good conduct to the qualified drivers, which should be required annually. It should be noted that following the traffic rules is a necessary step to attain a professional licence. The Abu Dhabi delivery motorcyclists\u2019 safety plan also aims to set up more than 2,800 parking spots in Abu Dhabi and 200 in Al Ain.
