As a leading car manufacturer across the globe, Kia has rolled out several models in different car categories. These models became popular due to their versatility and innovative features. KIA CARNIVAL GENERATIONS<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A known fact about Kia<\/a> is that it is the largest and oldest manufacturer of vehicles in South Korea. That said, the brand has launched models in different car categories. Catering to various requirements, Kia introduced a minivan in 1998. The car was designed to compete with other minivans in the market. It was introduced as Carnival\/Sedona for different markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s go through the history of Kia Carnival and how it evolved in the current generation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KIA CARNIVAL FIRST GENERATION (1998-2006)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Kia rolled out the first Carnival\/Sedona in 1998. However, the model was refreshed in 2002 and launched in the markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first generation of Kia Carnival adorned a minimal front fascia with a slid-down hood and matching car grille<\/a>. The sliding doors had body-coloured handles. New tail lights were installed which were more prominent and flattened from the upper side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior of the Carnival provided a seating of seven to eight passengers. It was one of the key features that made it a popular family car. The door, door panels and steering wheel featured wood trims while the car upholstery was upgraded. Moreover, the front seat row was divided by a centre console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These Carnival models drew power from a 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 195 horsepower<\/a>. It was paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Later on, a five-speed manual transmission was also introduced for the engine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KIA CARNIVAL SECOND GENERATION (2006-2015)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Kia introduced the second generation of carnival in two versions: for longer and shorter wheelbase <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Kia rolled out the second generation of Carnival in 2005, while a short-wheelbase version was introduced in 2007. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front fascia featured a body-coloured grille and swept-back headlights. The minivan also consisted of electronic rear doors for the entrance of rear seat passengers. The overall look of the vehicle was redesigned to make it more modern than its predecessor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seating for the second-generation Carnival remained up to eight passengers. Leather upholstery was introduced in place of cloth, adding to the quality of the interior. For rear-seat passengers, Kia equipped the minivan with a DVD rear-entertainment system mounted on the ceiling. Also, the third seating row was made spacious, providing more legroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
