BMW, a famous German automotive brand, is renowned for its innovation and technology. The German auto manufacturer introduced its first-ever Sports Activity Coupe X6<\/strong> in 2008. Adding to the prestigious car lineup, BMW introduced a compact version of the X6<\/strong>, known as the BMW X4. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BMW X4 debuted in 2014 and became BMW\u2019s second Sports Activity Coupe. Although the BMW X4’s history hasn\u2019t marked a decade yet, it is a prominent addition to the BMW\u2019s lineup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014, X4 was the second Sports Utility Coupe in the history of BMW. It was more compact than the BMW X6. Moreover, the low-arched roof with dynamic lines provided a more sporty exterior appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front fascia featured headlights connected to the iconic kidney grille. It also boasted wide air intake vents and LED fog lights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior offers a wide centre console that houses the touchscreen infotainment system<\/a>. Additionally, the SUV can seat up to five passengers. The interior provides a comfortable space with power-adjustable seats and sufficient leg and headroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood, the BMW X4\u2019s first generation boasted 2.0- and 3.0-litre engines producing 184 and 306 hp, respectively. Moreover, X4 included a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine in its lineup that generated 245 hp. All engines came paired with 8-speed automatic transmission<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first generation of X4, BMW introduced the M Sports model of this car. It featured BMW M Performance parts alongside a 6-cylinder 3.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 360 hp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the X4 models were available with BMW xDrive<\/a>, a four-wheel drive system. Besides, BMW X4 models included the latest onboard technology as part of the ConnectedDrive System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2018, the second generation of the BMW X4 debuted with a refreshed design. A few differences, such as a front grille with a 3D look, enhanced the appearance of X4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rear featured a new set of taillights inspired by the BMW 3-Series and 8-Series models. Besides, the ride height was reduced for the first time in the BMW X4\u2019s history. It enhanced the handling of the vehicle at higher speeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior was more spacious, with a cargo space of 525 litres. Moreover, X4 owners can increase the cargo space by folding the rear seats. The BMW X4 new models featured a high-opening boot lid. Users can open the lid by pressing the BMW logo<\/a> instead of the traditional way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engine lineup included 4-cylinders 2.0-litre and a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine producing 184 and 252 hp. Moreover, the M Performance model featured a six-cylinder 3.0-litre engine generating 354 to 380 hp. All engines came paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three years after the launch of the second generation BMW X4, a facelifted version made its way with a more intuitive interior. The facelifted version shared the Cluster Architecture (CLAR) Platform with X3 and X5. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front fascia featured a new bumper design. It was the first time in BMW X4\u2019s history that it featured a single-section frame kidney grille with a mesh design. The front featured adaptive Matrix LED headlights type<\/a>, whereas the rear included LED headlights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto<\/a> was part of the X4. Plus,  the new BMW X4 models feature a three-zone automatic climate control for more comfort on the rear seats. Other redesigned features include gears selector and BMW iDrive<\/a> rotary knob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, a new addition to BMW X4 is the mild hybrid engine. Although the engine specs are similar, the new ones come paired with a 48-volt electric motor making X4 a plug-in hybrid car<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
