The working of automatic emergency stop assist is similar to that of a collision avoidance system<\/a>, but the emergency stop assistance is more advanced. The automatic emergency stop system works based on real-time information inside the cabin. The car cabin features one or more infrared cameras monitoring the driver\u2019s head and eye position. The real-time information from cameras is provided to software, continuously monitoring the driver\u2019s alertness. In some vehicles, the steering wheel is equipped with a pressure sensor that is also used to gauge the driver’s alertness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the driver is not attentive, the software will start issuing warnings. The warnings will be beeping sounds or alert messages on the instrument cluster.
