Given the increasing demand of electric vehicles (EVs) across the globe, Cadillac has announced the launch of an ultra-luxury and highly advanced version of EV, i.e Celestiq. The Cadillac Celestiq EV is said to be the all-electric and first handcrafted sedan ever introduced by the brand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cadillac Celestiq electric car unveiled is a show car version, but the automaker plans to add it in its upcoming line of EVs. The model, powered by General Motor\u2019s Ultium battery technology, will hit the market between 2024 \u2013 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cadillac revealed the concept car version of the Celestiq EV right after unveiling its all-electric Lyriq SUV, which is one of the upcoming 2023 electric cars<\/a>. The manufacturer says that Celestiq will feature innovative and ultra-modern technologies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celestiq is a concept car <\/a>that will be a benchmark for the brand\u2019s engineering and design teams. The design of the Cadillac Celestiq electric car is inspired by the company\u2019s 120-year heritage. To be specific by the pre-war V16 powered coaches, Cadillac\u2019s, 1957 Eldorado Brougham model and classic architecture of various car models from the pre war era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aerodynamic and futuristic look of the show car is backed by a sloping roof and long bonnet with large front grille. There are huge tail lights ever seen on a Cadillac model that further defines the futuristic design the Celestiq EV will offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the interesting Cadillac Celestiq EV features is the electric vehicle charging port\u2019s location. The EV charging port in the show car is close to the driver\u2019s door. It is accessible by pressing the flying goddess symbol, which you can spot near the side mirror. The panel will slide open and you can access the electric vehicle<\/a> charging port. The charging port also features guiding lights to indicate the charging level. The 30s and 40s Cadillac classic models used to have flying goddess ornaments on the hood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The show car version of the Cadillac Celestiq EV has features and technologies that car enthusiasts will actually experience in the production version. For example, the interior will feature five high-end HD LED displays. Also, a 55-inch diagonal display will be provided stretching across the dashboard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The huge display on the dashboard will feature an active privacy technology. This technology will block the driver from viewing the content played on the passenger side. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will notice a knob at the centre of front and rear seats, which is provided to adjust the climate in the respective cabin. And for a more dramatic look, the cabin interior has been adorned with red colour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, the show car not only has a huge display but also an enormous glass roof featuring four glass panels\/zones. This is a variable-transmission electrochromic smart glass roof<\/a> integrated with Suspended Particle Device (SPD) technology. This technology enables users to personalise and control their quarter of the roof from keeping it transparent to opaque, a combination of both. Users can also darken it in their preferred shade. Also, the SPD activates variable lighting in the four zones of the glass roof. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Celestiq electric car will have four bucket seats to ensure that every passenger has a comfortable and spacious space.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Celestiq electric sedan by Cadillac will be custom-commissioned, leveraging car enthusiasts to customise elements in their Celestiq. According to various sources there will be unlimited options of customisation available. This option is expected to further set this model apart from the rest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The show car is also equipped with technologies that were added to other models by Cadillac. One of the such is the Super Cruise feature, which is General Motor\u2019s hands-free highway driving system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advent of this hand-made electric car by Cadillac would be the first of its kind, as the brand plans to hand-build each Celestiq. Also, the production version will be built at General Motor\u2019s Global Technical Center, which has been re-engineered at a cost of around $81 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was all about the Cadillac Celestiq concept car which is expected to set new standards for the brand\u2019s electric line-up.
