W168 II (2001 to 2004)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The W168 II A-Class was built on a longer 102.1-inch wheelbase to increase its Moose test<\/a> score. It was a facelift of the first generation with redesigned front bumpers, taillights and headlights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No changes were observed in the engine. A similar 4-cylinder inline engine was used, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission system. For the second-generation, safety was enhanced by installing disc brakes (front), drum brakes (rear) and anti-roll bars<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second generation can be considered an evolution of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. It was unveiled with a redesigned exterior; a signature grille was introduced at the front with the Mercedes-Benz logo placed in the centre.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The third generation was built on a new platform and was completely redesigned to cater to the shifting automotive standards. For the first time in the Mercedes-Benz A-Class history, the basic hatchback boxy shape of the car was replaced with an advanced hatchback similar to a crossover. Therefore, the car seems to have no connection with the Mercedes A-Class old models. The cabin environment was completely changed by installing ambient lighting, race-inspired seats, round air vents and a floating infotainment system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
