Road Bridges<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

List of the most famous bridges in Dubai include road bridges and pedestrian bridges. The road bridge refers to the overpasses constructed to reduce traffic jams. Majority of these bridges in Dubai are used to connect the main city with the surrounding areas. All of these bridges are constructed and maintained under the supervision of RTA Dubai<\/a>. Floating Bridge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The floating bridge is one of its own kind in Dubai. The bridge is famous for two major reasons; the first reason is the pontoon technology used in this bridge. The bridge uses pontoons, the large vessels filled with air which makes the bridge float over the water. Second, the bridge was planned and constructed within 23 days. It is operated electronically and can be opened or closed at any time. This 365 meter long bridge remains closed from 10 pm Thursday to 6 am Saturday. The bridge intersects near Yacht Dubai, Dubai Creek Golf and Deira City Dubai. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al Maktoum Bridge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This 37 meter long bridge is one of the oldest bridges in Dubai. Although the bridge has gone through major modifications, it still secures historical importance. The latest modification was in 2009 when the RTA Salik <\/a>was installed. This 37 meter long bridge has five traffic lanes that connect Deira, Bur Dubai and Dubai Creek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al Garhoud Bridge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The old Al Garhoud bridge was constructed in 1976, and it was one of the oldest over Dubai Creek. The old bridge receives heavy traffic from different roads connected to it. Therefore, a new seven lane bridge with the same name was constructed near the old bridge. The old one was destroyed after the construction of the new Al Garhoud Bridge. The bridge is famous because of the surrounding artwork that looks like sand dunes in daylight and sea waves at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Bay Crossing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Business Bay Crossing also known as Ras Al Khor Bridge is one of the longest and recently built bridges in Dubai. The total length of Business Bay Crossing is around 1600 meters and has a total 13 lanes for traffic. It connects Bur Dubai to Deira and also leads to Sharjah.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
