These vehicles use advanced sensors, automation and AI to optimise capacity, reduce congestion and improve overall transport efficiency. They are designed to operate either autonomously or under remote supervision, depending on the deployment stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-a-new-category-of-road-vehicles\">A New Category of Road Vehicles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Abu Dhabi is the first city worldwide to classify modular, smart and reconfigurable vehicles as a standalone road category. Developed by NexT, these autonomous modular vehicles in Abu Dhabi can adapt in real time to cater to changing passenger volumes and service requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision is supported by international research and peer-reviewed studies from institutions in New York and Abu Dhabi.
