Initially, in this decade, the SEAT Panda gained popularity in Spain because of its practicality. In 1982, SEAT joined forces with Volkswagen. Meanwhile, the Panda was rebranded as Marbella, focusing on younger audiences. Featuring Italian design in conjunction with German engineering, the SEAT Ibiza was launched in 1984.
