BMW\u2019s sedans are known for their sleek exterior, comfortable interior, higher driveability and technologically advanced features. The 7 Series is an ideal example of the brand&#8217;s attention to detail and exclusivity it offers. The 7 Series was launched almost 50 years ago and is still popular in the market.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s take a closer look at the BMW 7 Series history and elaborate on its different generations justifying its popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-bmw-7-series-generations\">BMW 7 Series Generations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Following are the different generations of BMW 7 Series released to date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-first-generation-e23-1977-to-1986\">First Generation E23 (1977 to 1986)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The first generation of 7 Series was the successor of the E3 model, featuring a sleek exterior. The front fascia features a kidney bean-shaped radiator grille with two rounded headlights. Steel bumpers were present to provide the car with additional safety.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Though the model was released in 1977, it was equipped with advanced features. The kidney-shaped radiator grille was stretched horizontally, however two rounded headlights were still present. At the rear end, L-shaped brake lights were introduced. For the first time, Xenon lights were also offered in the 7 Series.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second generation 7 Series featured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dubizzle.com\/blog\/cars\/park-distance-control\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Park Distance Control<\/a>, ABS and a noise-cancelling cabin. Moreover, in-car telephones and on-board fridges were also offered in the High line equipment range. BMW offered a V12 engine in the second generation 7 Series increasing the overall performance of the car<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-third-generation-e38-1994-to-2001\">Third Generation E38 (1994 to 2001)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This generation of 7 Series was well-received by the customers due to the advanced technological features it offered. The front fascia was completely different from previous BMW 7 Series generations. At the front, a wide kidney-shaped radiator grille was sandwiched between narrow rectangular headlights.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BMW offered a navigation system and airbags in this generation. Furthermore, the BMW 750hL, a new engine technology that uses hydrogen as a fuel was also introduced in this generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine was present that can produce a total of 184 hp. The fourth generation 7 Series featured a large kidney-shaped radiator grille with vertical bars and adaptive headlights. The fourth generation marks the BMW 7 Series evolution with a completely redesigned exterior and interior<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fifth-generation-f01-f02-2008-to-2015\">Fifth Generation F01 &#8211; F02 (2008 to 2015)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This time, BMW again redesigned the 7 Series offering a blend of signature and modern design cues. The fifth generation 7 Series features narrow headlights and a large kidney-shaped radiator grille. A long hood, low roof line and chrome strips complete the sporty appearance of the car.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cabin was decorated with high-end upholstery. Aside from upholstery, the car was also equipped with safety and driver-assist features.
