It became the hallmark of McLaren\u2019s racing cars.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1981-to-1990\">1981 to 1990<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The 1980s saw the introduction of the iconic <em>speed mark<\/em>, a design by Raymond Loewy featuring a red chevron on a black and white shield. This symbolised McLaren&#8217;s steadfast dedication to speed and innovation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The logo consisted of a \u201cMcLaren\u201d wordmark, written in a bold black font with International written underneath. Then, on the top of the wordmark, a checkered flag completed the look. Now, the logo only consisted of the McLaren wordmark, with a dynamic red chevron. It captured the essence of speed and forward momentum of McLaren cars.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1997-to-2006\">1997 to 2006<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The first McLaren swoosh logo came into sight in 1997. The McLaren logo now had an acute-angled arc on top of the wordmark. While the colour palette remained the same, the text appeared smoother and more streamlined.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2007-to-2017\">2007 to 2017<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To incorporate a new silver livery with the existing logo, McLaren made a few tweaks. McLaren revised the old logo with the red chevron looking more three-dimensional.
