The ITC (Abu Dhabi Mobility), Department of Municipalities and Transport also took part in the GITEX Global 2024. It participated as part of the exhibition pavilion by the Abu Dhabi Government. The authority hosted the launch of Fusion, the Smart Mobility Analytics Framework.
The framework harnesses intelligent technologies to provide valuable insights and data. All these technological advancements aim to improve the capital city’s transport sector and infrastructure. Purpose and Scope of the Smart Mobility Analytics Framework
The Smart Mobility Framework by ITC has been designed to streamline the operations of Abu Dhabi public transport and associated facilities. The data-backed insights intend to analyse and offer a calculated estimation of the capital city’s current and future transportation needs.
The development of the project has been ongoing for a while. As of now, the analysis of over 70 billion current and historical patterns and data matrices has been done. The Modelling and Analytic Framework (STEAM+) has been used for the analyses.
According to the authority, the proposed mobility framework will cover the entire Emirate of Abu Dhabi. This includes the main capital city, as well as the surrounding region, such as Al Ain and Al Dhafra. The scope of the initiative focuses on transport infrastructure development, data-backed decision-making and calculated measures to tackle future challenges.
About STEAM+ Modeling Framework in Abu Dhabi
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) developed a Strategic Transportation Evaluation and Assessment Model (STEAM+). It was to support data-driven transport planning for Abu Dhabi. The enhanced STEAM+ framework now integrates strategic, meso and micro modelling to guide decisions on land use, infrastructure and policy for future years (2025, 2030, 2040 and 2050).
Widely adopted by stakeholders, STEAM+ has been instrumental in assessing infrastructure projects worth more than AED 60 billion. From road expansions to metro construction, the assessment involved different urban elements for the implementation of the Abu Dhabi Mobility Smart Mobility Framework.
Mou Between Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) and Presight AI Technologies
Abu Dhabi Mobility has also signed an MoU with Presights AI Technologies at GITEX Global 2024. The gist of the agreement revolves around the implementation of AI Technologies in the transport sector. The joint initiative aims to enhance the safety and efficiency of corporate fleet management and EV charging infrastructure. The technological advancements also aim to capitalise on the potential of commercial transport AI systems in the capital emirate.
One of the strategic goals of the tech-driven initiative also involves the evaluation of AI solutions and their implementation. Their scalability and feasibility are anticipated to align with the urban sustainability goals of the emirate.
