PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN RAS AL KHAIMAH
RAKTA, also called RAK Transport Authority, was established in 2008. The dedicated authority ensures that the public transport in Ras Al Khaimah is in line with best international practices. RAKTA supervises all transportation services including buses, rental buses, tourist transport, commercial transport, mass transit, taxis, maritime transport, school transport, and all other passenger transport services.
TAXI SERVICE IN RAS AL KHAIMAH
Taxis are one of the commonly used Ras Al Khaimah public transport. Regulated by RAKTA, the region has around 600 Al Hamra taxis for daily commute. These taxis were introduced in Ras Al Khaimah by Arabia Holdings in association with Ras Al Khaimah Transport Investment. Al Hamra taxis are fully air-conditioned.
Public transportation in Ras Al Khaimah is also facilitated by Arabia Taxi, which is a franchise of RAK Transport Authority. There are around 500 Arabia Taxis in the Emirate.
Arabia and Al Hamra normal taxi fare starts from AED 3.00 and outside RAK the fare is from AED 10.00.

Ladies Taxi
Another type of taxi service operating in RAK is the Ladies taxi service which runs 24/7. The fare charged by Ladies taxi service is similar to that charged by Regular taxi service in RAK.
For inter-city commute, there are VIP Limos by Al Hamra that you can book for different destinations in other Emirates. There are 7-seater, 14-seater, 30-seater, 35-seater and 50-seater Al Hamra VIP Limousines that you can book for airport transfers to neighbouring Emirates, tourist and non-tourist destinations, hotels as well as RAK hotels and city tourist spots.
The cost of a full-day city tour from RAK Hotel to Dubai starts from AED 700 (7-seater) and goes up to AED 1900 (50-seater). Whereas, for Abu Dhabi the fare starts from AED 950 (7-seater) and can range as high as AED 2300 (50-seater).
