All about the Paid Parking System in Khorfakkan

According to the Khorfakkan City Municipality, parking charges will apply to the vehicles in four locations: Sheikh Khaled Street, Al Rafisah Dam, KhorFakkan Corniche and Shees Park. Except for Sheikh Khalid Street, the parking charges will apply from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm daily. However, the parking at Sheikh Khalid Street will remain free on Fridays. 

How to Pay for Parking in Khorfakkan

You can make payment for parking at the popular destination by pressing “pay” on one of the nearby smart machines. Follow this process to pay via the smart machine

• Select the emirate’s three-letter plate source
• You will be provided with data, review it
• Set the desired parking duration
• Choose the method of parking payment 
• You can then pay with coins or a prepaid card
• After you click on the payment preference of your choice, you will receive an e-ticket with details 
• If the e-ticket does not appear and instead you see a notification about the electronic ticket’s non-availability, print the message and place it in front of your vehicle 

Another mode of payment is through SMS. Follow this process if using the SMS payment mode:

• Text the car plate source, the plate number, and the number of parking hours to 5566
• Simple format to follow: (plate source) (plate number) (number of hours)

Fees for Parking in Khorfakkan

Following are the details for parking tariffs in Khorfakkan:   

• The parking fee per hour is AED 2
• The parking fee for two hours is AED 5
• The parking fee for three hours is AED 8
• The parking fee for five hours is AED 12

Exemptions from Paid Parking in Khorfakkan

According to the local authority, people who are 60 years old or more can park for free. However, registration with the municipality is necessary to qualify for free parking. People who fall in the category of free parking can:

• Visit the customer service centre situated in Al Mudifi area, Khorfakkan
• Or register themselves on the municipality’s website
