Powertrain and Electrified Performance
The 2026 Corvette ZR1X represents the pinnacle of Corvette engineering. It combines the twin‑turbocharged 5.5-litre LT7 V8 from the standard ZR1 with an electrified front axle derived from the E-Ray hybrid system. Chassis, Braking & Dynamics
At the chassis level, it uses magnetic ride control, offered in both standard and ZTK Performance configurations. The ZTK setup adds stiffer springs for maximum grip on track.
Standard carbon‑ceramic brakes feature 16.5‑inch discs front and rear, with Alcon 10‑piston front and 6‑piston rear brake callipers, larger than any previous Corvette’s. In addition, the ZR1X achieved a deceleration of 1.9 (g) from 290 to 193 km/h.
For handling, PTM Pro enhances performance with no traction or stability control. But, it retains regen-brake torque vectoring, front-axle brake pre-control and customisable launch control. Combined with eAWD, this setup allows the ZR1X to sustain over 1 g lateral grip while accelerating out of corners – an astonishing feat.
Exterior
Visually, the ZR1X distinguishes itself with its latest design. Apart from the ‘X’ badge and a few cooling rares in the nose, its body closely resembles the extreme engineering of 2025 ZR1 . Buyers can choose coupe or convertible variants and carriers of the full Carbon‑Fibre Aero Package or ZTK benefit from dive planes, strakes, underbody enhancements and a rear wing producing up to 545 kg of downforce.
Built on the mid‑engine C8 architecture, the design supports the ZR1X’s hybrid AWD layout, with attention to airflow, thermal management and chassis rigidity. Aero ducts, heat extractors and diffuser modifications ensure effective high‑speed stability and cooling. The new Corvette ZR1X 2026 model also features Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tyres.
