GM Middle East revealed a notable demographic shift, with youth and women forming a growing share of its pick-up truck buyers. Among Emiratis aged 20 to 29, the GMC Sierra has emerged as a popular first-time purchase. Similarly, the Chevrolet Silverado continues to maintain loyalty among Saudi buyers aged from 30 to 50.
The company highlighted that over the past three years, female ownership of full-size pickups has more than doubled. In 2024, women accounted for 9% of all GM truck buyers in the GCC, with Kuwait leading at 13%, the UAE at 9% and Qatar at 7%.

Furrukh Jawaid, GM Africa and Middle East CMO, highlighted that off-roading in the Gulf has evolved from a skill into a cultural tradition, with youth now representing up to 35% of GM’s customer base.
Rohan Fernandes, Managing Director of Commercial Operations, added that pick-ups have shifted from purely functional vehicles to “expressions of style, performance and heritage.” The shift has driven a 46% market share in the first half of 2025.
