For your convenience, here we have broken down everything you need to know about car warranties in the UAE.
Types of Car Warranties in the UAE
A variety of car warranties in the UAE are available, covering different ranges of services and repairs. The following are the major types of car warranties offered in the UAE.
Manufacturer Warranty
As evident from the name, the manufacturer warranty coverage in the UAE is offered by the automaker on the purchase of new cars for sale in the UAE. Generally, the warranty covers repairs for 3 years or 100,000 Km, whichever comes first.
The manufacturer’s warranty can cover major repairs like engine and transmission which is often excluded in other warranties.
Extended Warranty
The extended car warranty in the UAE is a continuation of the manufacturers’ warranty. The extended warranty covers all the basic elements that were previously covered. Besides the previous coverage, an extended car warranty also offers repairs and maintenance of other car parts.
Please remember that extended warranties can only be obtained when the current manufacturer’s insurance is valid. Obtaining an extended warranty for an outdated car warranty will be difficult.
Aftermarket or Third-Party Warranty
Car warranty providers other than manufacturers offer aftermarket or third-party car warranties in the UAE. Third-party warranties include comprehensive repairs and services that are often not covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.
This is why the premium of a third-party warranty is usually higher than that of other warranties.
Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Warranty
The certified pre-owned warranty in the UAE is offered to used car owners, similar to the coverage that manufacturers’ warranties offer to new car owners. The warranty covers wear and tear of car engine parts or other components, securing owners from hefty repair costs.
Powertrain Warranty
The powertrain is a basic type of warranty that provides coverage for engine and transmission. The powertrain warranty is often cheaper in contrast to other warranties, but it can secure owners from expensive repairs.
