How do I sign up for an account on dubizzle?
Signing up for an account on Dubai’s favorite website, dubizzle.com, is one of the easiest things you’ll ever do.
From the homepage, on the grey bar next to the logo, you will find a link on the left hand side that says Sign Up.
From the Sign Up page, just fill in your information, agree to the Terms and Conditions and fill in the verification word. After you finish the Sign up form we will send an email the address you signed up with an activation link. Clicking on this link will complete the sign up process.
My activation email didn't come.
If you don’t receive the activation email please check your spam or junk folders. Also note that some ISPs block emails. If you don’t find the activation email in your junk folders, you can email us at support@dubizzle.com
Please make sure the email address you enter comes from the email address that you signed up with.
The link inside my activation email isn't working.
If you click on the link in the email and it brings you to an error page, try signing in from the homepage with your email and password. If this doesn’t work, you will need to copy and paste the link from the email into your browser. If this still doesn’t work, you can email us at support@dubizzle.com.
It says that an account with this email address already exists.
It is likely that you started the process of signing up on dubizzle.com and never completed the process. To request another activation email, email us at support@dubizzle.com.
The CAPTCHA (verification word) isn't working.
Please clear your cache with the instructions below. Please note that we only support the browsers listed below and strongly recommend that you update your browser to the newest version available.
Internet Explorer 6.0
- On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- The Internet Options box should open to the General tab.
- On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button.
- From the same tab, select 'Delete Cookies.'
- Click "Close" and restart the browser.
Internet Explorer 7.0
- On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click "Delete Browsing History."
- 2. In the Temporary Internet Files section click on "Delete Files" and select "Yes."
- In the Cookies section click on "Delete Cookies" and select "Yes."
- Click "Close" and restart the browser.
Safari
- Open Safari.
- Select Empty Cache.
- Click Empty on the 'Are you sure' message box.
- Exit and relaunch the browser.
- To delete your cookies, select preferences, then click on: security tab->show cookies->remove all
Firefox 2.0 for PCs
- Click Tools and select Options on the Firefox menu bar.
- Click the Privacy Icon on the Option menu bar to open the Privacy Properties.
- In the Cookies section, click "Show Cookies" and then "Remove All Cookies."
- In the Private Data section, click on "Settings" and make sure the box next to "Cache" is checked before selecting "OK."
- Click on the "Clear Now" link.
- Exit and relaunch the browser.
Firefox 2.0 for Macs
- On the Firefox toolbar, click Tools and select "Clear Private Data"
- Make sure that Cache and Cookies are selected
- Click on "Clear Private Data Now"
- Exit and relaunch browser

How much does placing an ad cost?
The only ads that are charged for on dubizzle.com are Property for Sale ads, at a measly 149 dirhams. All other ads, including Classifieds, Jobs, Property for Rent, Community, Discussions, Comments, Calendars and Reviews are all free. We sure are generous aren’t we?
How do I place an ad?
To place an ad, simply click on the “Place an Ad!” button to the right of the Logo. From there you can place Classified, Property, Job and Community ads on the site by following the simple step-by-step process.
If you are placing an ad without an account, don’t worry we will set you up with an account during the process. Simply provide your email address and details and we will send you an activation email. Clicking on the link inside the activation email will both publish your ad, as well as finalize your account. You can then use that email address and password as your account on dubizzle.
I'm getting an error when I try and upload a picture with my ad.
This should never happen with the new site, but if it does, it is probably to do with the size of the photo. We recommend pictures that are less than 500kb, though most sizes will upload fine.
How do I put the location of my listing on the map?
On step 2 of Placing an Ad there is a field for Location. This field uses predicted text to help you find your neighborhood or development so just start typing. Once you have chosen your neighborhood (i.e. Al Barsha) and proceeded to the next step, you will see that the Google Map then highlights the neighborhood you have chosen.
To move around the map you can click and hold you mouse to move any direction and use the “+” and “-“ icons to zoom in and zoom out. Once you have found the location simply click on the map and a pin will appear. To change the location of the pin, simply drag it to any location on the map.
My ad never showed up
If you are placing an ad for the first time on dubizzle and do not currently have an account with us, you will need to verify your email address. We have sent you an email to the address provided and you need to click on the link inside to both activate your account and publish your ad.

The picture with my ad isn't showing up
All pictures that have been uploaded onto dubizzle are manually approved to ensure the quality of our site. We have dedicated staff to this procedure and assure you that you won’t have to wait long.
How do I edit my ad or add a picture?
You profile on dubizzle is useful for many things and will in the future be a major part of your experience.
To edit or delete an ad simply sign in to your account on the top right hand side of the page with your email and password. Once signed in, you will see the link at the same location for My Profile. From there you can edit and delete everything.
Dubizzle is amazing and I've sold my item, how do I delete my ad?
Deleting your ad is just as easy and editing. See above.
I'm interested in Property for Sale listing packages, what should I do?
For clients interested in listing packages there are two options available:
- Unlimited Listings: All of the properties on your website, or in your online software will be automatically updated on dubizzle.com every 24 hrs through a simple RSS feed.
- Listing Bundles: Listing packages for 25, 50, and 100 listings are available.

How do I place a Property for Sale ad and how much do they cost?
Property for Sale ads are placed through the normal Place an Ad form to the right of the logo. They cost is 149 dirhams per listing and can be paid for with either your Visa or Mastercard.
How do I place multiple Properties?
If you are an Agency that is interested in listing all your properties or buying bulk packages of listings, please contact us on advertise[at]dubizzle.com
How long will it be on the site?
All Property Listings last for 60 days on the dubizzle.
How many pictures can I upload?
We give you 3 pictures at the moment, but hope to expand that to at least 6 in the very near future.
Is it effective?
You will be able to track both views as well as emails received from dubizzle. To see how many people have looked at your property, go to your Profile and look at the “Views” next to your ad.
Additionally, the Property section of dubizzle receives over 150,000 pageviews a month.
Is it safe?
The payment portal that we use for charging credit cards is secured by Mashreq Bank here in the UAE. The process is safe and secure and none of your information will ever be shared with anyone.

The new dubizzle Search bar is one of the coolest things we’ve added to the site. You can now search dynamically across the entire site, from Make and Model of Auto to the exact development of property to all the restaurants of a certain cuisine within miles of your location, in one convenient Search Bar. It’s super useful.
How do I use the new search?
What is the difference between the Site Search and the Search bar?
The Site Search is meant for keyword search. Perhaps you are looking for all results that are about International City, whether they are listings for Sale, for Rent, Blogs or Discussions. You will get a complete list of results that match those keywords, broken down into the sections they are located in.
The Search Bar is to be used when you want to search within a specific category.
How does the "Location" field work for searching?
On the Search Bar for Property and Reviews you can see that there is a field for Location. This is a “predicted text” box that will give you suggestions based on what you begin to type. So just start typing the neighborhood or development you are interested in searching, and then select the correct one.
Why can't I search by Location for all things?
Because none of the data from the old site has been mapped, you can’t search that data according to location. But from the launch of this version, we will be gathering geographical location of all your items, so that very shortly you will be able to search by Location for everything.
I'm interested in something on dubizzle, what should I do?
We are glad you found something interesting. If the poster hasn’t listed his or her phone number, you can always send them an email. On the bottom of every ad on our site you will find a “Contact Poster by Email” form that can be filled out. This message, once sent, with go directly into the Posters Inbox for them to respond to at a later time.
Rest assured that your email address will never be sold or released without your permission.
Can I be sure that they received my email?
Dubizzle currently uses Google Mail to deliver all inquiries and responses to ads, so if you can trust Google, then you can trust us.
Are Job listings free?
Yes. At the moment, all Job listings on dubizzle are free of charge. We do not guarantee that this will continue forever so enjoy this now. We have big plans for our Jobs section that include Resume Help, a Searchable Database and much more, to give you, depending on your needs, either the best candidates possible, or the best jobs in Dubai.
Where do I place a Job Wanted ad?
Under “Place an Ad”, just click on Jobs Wanted. Please be sure that if you are looking for a job, that you don’t post you ad in Job Vacancies. Ta.
I want to apply for a Job on dubizzle.
Applying for a Job is the same as responding to an ad. When looking at the details of the position, at the bottom of the page you can send a message to the Employer and attach you CV or Resume for their consideration.
What type of file and what size should my CV or Resume be in?
You can send Word or PDF files but please limit your file sizes to <1mb to assure that the recipient receives your submission.
What's so cool about reviews?
Reviews are one of the most exciting new features about dubizzle. We could go on for days about it, but essentially, you now have a Geo-tagged or Mapped directory of Bars, Restaurants and Hotels in Dubai, that are reviewable.
We encourage you to Review every experience you have and to be thorough. Be honest but be fair and let Dubai know what you think. Go Nuts!
What should I review?
Have you had an amazing night out at a new Club in town? Review it. Were you pleasantly surprised but the quality of food at a new restaurant, but think they need to work on the service? Let them know. We think, every dining and social experience should be reviewed, so get to work.
Should I check my spelling?
You should always check your spelling.
We know we live in a City with hundreds of Nationalities and Cultures and languages, but the quality of your Reviews section will come down to the quality of the Reviews. So take some time and get it just right.
How do I start a discussion?
To start a discussion, you need to be on the page that you want the discussion to appear on. So if you really want to start a discussion on the Community Issues, then go to the Community Issues section of Discuss and click on the Red Button on the top right of the section that says “Start a New Discussion”
Can I edit or delete things I've written?
Unfortunately not. Knowing that you can’t edit and delete your ads will hopefully encourage everyone to be a bit more responsible about what you are posting.
How do I reply to a discussion?
Replying to a discussion is easy. You will need to be signed in to your account which you can do either at the top right sign in box or at the bottom of the discussion.
Simply click on the “Leave a Reply” link at the top of the discussion or scroll down to the end of the page and fill in the Reply box. You post will appear immediately. Try not to click Submit twice as it may display your reply twice.
I had a discussion on the previous site, where has it gone?
During the transfer of all the information from the Version 1 to Version 2 we have created an Archive. Most of the older and out-dated discussions have gone into the Archive, but don’t worry you incessant Word Game addicts, you can still take part in discussions that are in the Archive, they just don’t show up on the homepage anymore.
I am sick of idiots that don't know how to use a discussion forum.
OMG! We totally agree. Why can’t people just be friendly, helpful and refrain from posting nonsense. We don’t know either.
What kind of stuff should I not post in Discuss?
Dubizzle continues to stress that people should be cool. We are a free site that provides a lot of really cool resources and features and never quite understand why people want to abuse that. Let’s all strive to set an example for other people.
Stuff that ISN’T cool:
- Vicious/lewd name-calling
- Threatening dubizzlers with harm
- Incessantly harassing other dubizzlers and/or fighting with other dubizzlers
- Hate speech (racial slurs, bigotry, etc.)
- Posting personally identifiable information of other dubizzlers (full names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses)
- Posting on Talk under multiple identities by the same person
- Promoting your business or event in an unsolicited manner
- Posting off-topic Talk posts
- Generally, not being cool
Although we get no joy from it, these types of actions can and will get you blocked from using the service again.

To place that Event on our awesome calendar, click on “List an Event” on the top of the site and fill in the form.
Note: If the Venue of the event isn’t in our database please make sure that we don’t assume the closest venue to the spelling of your venue. On the next page we will give you a map to tell us exactly where that Venue is located.
Should I RSVP for an event?
Absolutely. By clicking on the I’m Going link on events you can tell the poster how popular the event will be. Can’t go? Give them a comment.
Comments are, well, comments. What better way to make the site completely interactive than to give you the ability to comment on almost everything?
Comments are now available Nights, Blogs, Reviews and Calendars.
If your comment has disappeared, this will be because of all the negative thumbs you have received on that comment. Don’t make us call your mother.

Thumbs are a great new way for the community to start deciding what you find interesting and productive and to discourage nonsense and abuse.
By clicking on the Thumbs Up, you are telling your fellow dubizzlers that you find that Reply or Comment accurate and valuable to the current discussion. We are big believers in rewarding those outstanding members. Thumbing something down, alternatively, means that you find that comment either abusive or unproductive and you wish that person would get a life. By all means, let them know.
How do I reverse my thumb rating on something?
By clicking on the same thumb direction you will make your vote neutral. You can then vote the other direction if you want to. You can only vote once per comment obviously.
How do I access My Profile?
Once you are signed in, just click on the My Profile link at the top Right corner.
What's is it good for?
At the moment, your profile is for showing some brief information about yourself and for editing and deleting all your listings.
Who can see my Profile and when?
You profile is accessible to people only through Reviews, Discussions and Comments. You will never be linked to your Classified, Property, Job or Community listings for privacy reasons.
If you have posted in one of these sections, other users will be able to view your First name and first letter of your last name, your picture and all Restaurant, Bar and Hotel Reviews that you have posted on dubizzle.
Should I use my real name?
Of Course. We believe that by being open and honest about your own information, will encourage others to do the same and create a community of responsible and social users.
What should be reported on dubizzle?
Dubizzle is a very large website, with thousands of postings, and while we try our hardest to make sure all that content is accurate and safe, we do rely heavily on people like you, to notify us of anything that may be amiss. We thank you in advance.
Please notify us of and Spam, Scams, Abuse, or generally anything you think we may need to know about.
How can I report something?
On all listings there is a Report as Scam link. Clicking on this with not only remove this listing from your viewing pleasure, but notify our devoted staff to this issue so that we can look into the issue fully.
What is “Mark as Spam” and how do I undo it?
As mentioned above, Mark as Spam, both removes the listing from your version of the website and notifies are administrators of the issue. At the moment, there is not a way to reverse the Mark as Spam removal, but we will fix that in a couple days. For now, just be careful where you click..
I'm a scammer, what should I do?
Hey buddy, like to scam people? Tell them you have just what they are looking only to swindle them out of their hard earned money?
Here’s what you should do.
1. Go to the nearest petrol station.
2. Buy 2 gallons of gasoline with the money that you’ve stolen.
3. Douse yourself in it.
4. Light yourself on fire!
